The Coach House at the Pheasant – Luxury Hotel Accommodation

How it came to be…

The Coach House is a boutique hotel, located on the grounds of The Pheasant, Gestingthorpe. Having opened in July 2011, the five impeccably designed and furnished rooms have proved to be hugely popular. James and Diana Donoghue, the husband and wife team who own The Pheasant, received grant funding for the project from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), funded by DEFRA and the EU, to build their luxurious hotel.

Ever since taking ownership of The Pheasant, James and Diana had this project in the back on their minds and were delighted when everything began moving forward. ‘We wanted to build on the sense of community in Gestingthorpe, and show people from far and wide that this is a beautiful place to come and stay,’ Diana explains. The project was delivered through the East of England Development Agency, which enabled the Donoghue’s to start building work on their five bedroomed boutique hotel. Each of the five rooms are a celebration of the local heritage, with each room’s design scheme having been inspired by a different historical local icon.

Now open, guests have come from as far as America to stay in this charming part of the world. Read on to learn more about the wonderful hotel rooms at The Coach House, we look forward to welcoming you soon!
