The Thomas Gainsborough Room

This stylishly furnished hotel room is available with either a super king-size bed or comfortable twin. The en suite bathroom is designed with relaxation in mind. Next door to the en suite is a private dressing room area, complete with large wardrobe. The Gainsborough hotel room also has French windows, leading out onto a private patio area.

This hotel room is named after Suffolk’s well-loved artist, who painted many royal portraits. The damask curtains that drape the French windows and the wool tapestry on the wall behind the bed, reflect the time of Gainsborough, adding real character to this new hotel room. The colours and textiles were chosen as they were inspired by Gainsborough Silk Weaving Mills and Gainsborough House, in Sudbury, which was the artist’s family home.

The well-designed hotel room can also double up as a private dining room to seat up to 25 people – perfect for business dinners, or an intimate wedding reception.
